Stayed at Niekerk's, waiting for the wagon which had a very bad road in the Krom River. It arrived towards evening, having got stuck in the mud. In the fine moonshine it travelled for another five hours to the Small Aapjes River. I stayed at Nieukerk's since I was not feeling well. Very hot today with a light south-east breeze. Heavy dew last night. My whole body was painful and I was listless. I had caught a cold having sat long on a rock reading, after having sweated.
