schoon weer ooste frisse wind. met den agtermiddag west donderlugt vertrok oost cours vandaag n:o: t: o: ½ o: 2 myl met een draay door het oost. alles afdragend ook een grote kom riv: byna uitgedroogt. spande by nodde uit.
cours na piet krieger. cours na hem moet iets noordelyker als n:o: vallen, ook 2 myl. de drift van buffels riv daar wy gepasseert zyn na aanwysing 6 myl. z:o: een obsevatie hier te lande is als met zulk weer als z:o: waayt donder weer uit den n: er tegen op trekt

Fine weather. Fresh east wind. In the afternoon a thundery sky in the west.
Departed, our route today being north-east by east half east, two miles with a turn through the east. All downhill. Another large basin. River nearly dried out. Outspanned at Nodde’s [Naude's].
Route to Piet Krieger: the route to him should fall a little more northerly than north-east. Also two miles. The drift on the Buffels River, which we have passed, was six miles south-east as determined by taking bearing. It is noticeable in this land, that when the south-east wind blows in such weather, thundery weather comes towards it from the north.
