noordelyke wind door 't donderweer van gisteren
ook wat bewolkt dog warm, met agtermiddag west.
vond pinar en zyn volk, nog aan sand fontein
sond ten eersten spykers en trekbanden de wagen te gemoed. enigen van pinars hottentotten waren siek, door het sterk lopen in de hette, gaf onse beste schut, afrikaander, op zyn versoek wat medicynen. willende hy met my in het namacqua land mede gaan.

Northerly wind caused by the thundery weather yesterday. Somewhat cloudy as well, though hot, with west wind in the afternoon.
Found Pienaar and his people still at Sandfontein. Immediately sent nails and hoop-irons to the wagon. Some of Pienar’s Hottentots were ill from walking hard in the heat. Gave Afrikaander, our best shot, some medicines at his request. He wishes to accompany me into Namaqualand.
