Outspanned at break of day and after travelling for two hours reached Middle Traka where we unyoked, having found both water and pasture, there having been thunderstorms in these parts shortly before.
Inspanned again after midday and came down Kauka for three hours, and thereafter having left Kauka, in three hours we reached Soetendaalsvlei, the farm of Jurie Graaf.
