reden in vier uren tot de plaats van enen bezuidenhoud daar wy de wagen vonden. reden verder over de hoge ruggens van myn vorig pad in drie en een half uur te paard tot by enen voslo daar de hoge rug afloopt. bleven hier de nagt over

alles grasige kalkaardige ruggens met doornbossen ook andere bomen als geel, stink, en ander houd
het schynt dat het wild hier na toe syn schuilhoek genomen heeft.

We rode to the farm of a certain Bezuidenhout in four hours and found the wagon there. We rode on across the high ridges of my previous route for three and a half hours on horseback until we reached a certain Vosloo a where the high ridge begins to fall away. Here we spent the night.

12 Good weather. Wind westerly, not much of it.
Thermometer: 67-80-70.

Saw innumerable quantities of game; wildebeests, quagga, hartebeest, ostrich, springbok.

Everywhere grassy, calcareous ridges with thorn-bushes as well as other trees such as yellow-wood and stinkwood and other types. It appears that the game has come here to take refuge.
