dese plaats hiete kararagingnaas. bleven om de moeiheid der ossen hier. het gebergte word hier hoger langs dese oever.

The same weather. The wind north-west in the afternoon and west in the evening. Not a cloud in the sky.
After travelling for four hours – same terrain everywhere, many quiver-trees– we outspanned at the river after having made some turns. It runs east-west here, all stone slabs and trees. The river was low.

This place is called Kararagingnaas. We stayed over here because the oxen were tired. The mountains along this bank become higher here.
