nog west en noord west die violent in den agtermiddag met wolken op stak, so dat denk het na de caap geregent heeft

op den middag kwam de wagen, matroos was er weer by gekomen, wy gingen alles tot versterking der wielen aanwenden, en leiden se in het water, zynde zy door de groote droogte verratelt. de leeuwen hebben een schaap der basters dood gebeten.

Wind still from the west and north-west. It rose violently in the afternoon bringing clouds so I think that it has rained at the Cape.

The wagon arrived in the afternoon. Matroos had joined up with it again. We set to doing everything we could to strengthen the wheels, and placed them in water as they had fallen apart due to the extreme dryness.. The lions have bitten a sheep of the basters to death.
