vertrokken deselve coers aan met den dag en spanden om half twe by een fontein uit dewelke wy seits fontein hieten na den doctor. waaren hier op een half uur van plettenbergs rivier en spanden hier uit om, morgen by tyds onder de hippopotamussen te komen.
barometer 25 - 7 termometer rees van 43 gr met son tot 73 middag na den middag 77 en daalde tot 56 gr met son. coers n.o t n. vier myl tot de rivier

Left on the same course at daylight and outspanned at half past one at a spring which we called Seitsfontein after the doctor. Here we were half an hour from the Plettenberg River and outspanned at this place in order get among the hippopotamus in good time in the morning. Barometer 25 inches and 7 tenths.
Thermometer rose from 43 degrees at sunrise to 73 degrees at midday; was 77 degrees in the afternoon and dropped to 56 degrees at sunset.
Route north-east by north, four miles to the river.
