Was not at all well. Found the latitude of this farm to be 32 degrees 6 minutes error 25 degrees north west. Brisk west north west-wind. Clear, fine weather; had to put mats over the astrolabe because of dust swirls even though it was behind the house. Thermometer. 60 degrees to 80 degrees dropping with sunset to 74 degrees. Calm in the evening.
Found by examining a Hottentot child that flat noses are natural here.
