s’avonds en s’nags donder en weerligt dog meest omtrent winterhoek en kougha.

Departed in the afternoon for the mouth of the Bakens River where we arrived after travelling with the ox-wagon for six hours. Two thirds along the way we followed our old road of 1778.

Fine weather but hot
in the evening and at night there was thunder and lightning but mostly
around Winterhoek and Kouga.
Thermometer: 70-94-90.
Wind south-east where we were on the shore.
